MIG/Structural Welder (Entry Level) $23hr
Position Summary: Our customer is seeking a dedicated and skilled MIG Welder to join our fabrication division. As a key member of their team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality welds on a variety of metal components used in industrial construction projects. This role requires a strong focus on safety, precision, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols to determine project requirements.
- Prepare and fit metal components for welding, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment, adjusting settings for optimal performance.
- Perform MIG welding on steel and alloy components, maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with company and industry standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work area to uphold Alfred Miller Companies' commitment to safety and organization.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and participate in regular safety meetings and training.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and fellow team members to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Assist in mentoring less experienced welders, promoting a culture of learning and excellence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school certification in welding preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience in an industrial or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong knowledge of MIG welding processes, equipment, and safety standards.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various positions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible shifts as needed.
