Overhead Door Technician
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Overhead Door Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial and industrial overhead doors and related equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, at least three (3) years of hands-on experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:

Install and assemble commercial and industrial overhead doors, including mechanical and electrical components.

Conduct inspections to assess door functionality, identify issues, and recommend repairs.

Perform adjustments and repairs to ensure doors operate safely and efficiently.

Replace and repair damaged parts such as springs, cables, rollers, panels, and operators.

Troubleshoot motorized systems and control mechanisms.

Test doors and openers for proper operation, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Respond promptly to service calls, including emergency repair requests.

Maintain accurate work records, service reports, and inventory of parts used.

Follow all company, OSHA, and industry safety protocols and standards.
Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of proven experience working with commercial and industrial overhead doors.

Strong technical knowledge of overhead door systems, including installation, service, and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with motor operators, dock equipment, high-speed doors, and rolling steel doors.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.

Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.

Strong customer service and communication abilities.

Ability to lift heavy equipment, use power tools, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.

Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or formal training in overhead door installation and repair.

OSHA 10/30 certification is a plus.

Experience with access control systems, gate operators, and related technologies.
