Kelly is currently seeking an experienced P&ID Design Drafter for a long-term opportunity in the Houston, Texas area! The P&ID Design Drafter will perform a variety of routine to moderately difficult Piping Design & Process Graphic Design assignments which require knowledge and skill in basic drafting techniques and procedures under moderate supervision.  Knowledge in other discipline areas of engineering drafting design is a plus! This is a multi-role assignment designed to further develop the incumbent's application of engineering design tools and engineering discipline design and construction deliverables, i.e. process flowsheets, P&IDs, plans, and details.  This role is within a Global support team and the individual is expected to communicate clearly and professionally across all geographic regions with diverse cultures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must demonstrate enthusiastic initiative to continue learning and development.
  • Must demonstrate an ever-present consciousness of safety in all personal and daily work activities.
  • Must maintain good work habits, be self-disciplined, use time efficiently, manage own assigned work, and able to assess and communicate the physical progress of the work assignment.
  • Must have strong MS Office and design engineering computer skills and be comfortable with database systems.
  • Must be Cad proficient in MicroStation.
  • Prefer an individual with at least two years' experience working in a 3D design environment or with intelligent process graphics.
  • Must possess fundamental knowledge of P&IDs and be adept at initial layout and drafting of intelligent P&IDs and PFDs, preferably experienced in a petrochemical or related environment.
  • Must be able to produce accurate multi-discipline drawings which conform to Company quality standards within a scheduled time period.
  • Must be responsive to meeting unforeseen internal and external change which impact project schedule requirements.
  • Must be a supportive and engaged team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work under the direction of Process Lead, Piping Lead, Steering Team Focal, or PDSG/PID Focal.
  • Must perform related support tasks such as running reports, analyzing the data, and using as the foundation to create or enhance document deliverables.
  • Must be able to perform routine checking assignments to ensure the basic layout, drafting, and integrity of the data of drawings and other deliverables from other drafters comply with client or company standards for presentation
  • Must be able to recognize and communicate lack of information required to complete the design work.
  • Must be able to understand the limits and boundaries of the scope of work when starting a task and recognizing and reporting change to the original scope of work when it occurs.
