SUMMARY We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Painter to join our team at Cummins in Roanoke, TX. The responsibility of this role involves refinishing vehicles to meet pre-accident conditions or industry standards of quality.
  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Follow all safety measures for personal and environmental safety.
  • Use all necessary safety equipment (e.g., goggles, gloves, face shields, respiratory masks).
  • Examine and estimate the cost of vehicle repairs, reporting any hidden damage.
  • Report any lost or broken parts.
  • Ensure that all body shop equipment is in good working condition.
  • Maintain the spray booth and mixing equipment efficiently.
  • Maintain industry standards of quality and minimize repaints.
  • Remove all dirt and other debris from painted areas.
  • Clean paint areas, tools, and equipment regularly.
  • Maintain the proper stocking levels of paint and materials.
  • Match (tint) and mix paint accurately.
  • Keep the production manager updated on status.
  • Clean grease and dirt from the product.
  • Apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
  • Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements include:
  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with a minimum of 2-3 years of related work experience. Equivalent combinations of education and training may be considered.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Must possess a current and valid driver's license with a driving record that meets the company's insurability guidelines.
