Kelly is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Processor to join our client in Brantford for a temporary short-term assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing payroll and managing various payroll-related transactions in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll accurately and on time, including deductions, benefits, and pension contributions.
- Handle retro pay, statutory pay, SEB payments, and manual adjustments.
- Audit and import electronic timesheets, resolving discrepancies with HR and school staff.
- Process garnishments, family support payments, and Records of Employment (ROEs).
- Ensure compliance with tax and labor laws, including CRA, Employment Standards Act, and Employer Health Tax regulations.
- Communicate with government agencies, employees, and internal departments regarding payroll matters.
- Support payroll team members and assist with clerical tasks.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3 years of full-cycle payroll experience.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- A criminal background check will be required.
