Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Polymer Group Senior Manager for a Direct Hire position at a premier chemical company in Benicia, CA. Salary:  
$150-170k

Overview:
This company is a leading innovator in thermoset resin and composite technologies, serving global aerospace and various other industries through its Product Development Team.

In this role, you will lead a small team to develop cutting-edge resin, prepreg, and adhesive products, manage projects and collaborate cross-functionally, regularly interface with customers to address technical needs, and play a key role in both day-to-day team leadership and hands-on technical work, preparing for potential future advancement within the organization.

Schedule: 
Monday-Friday, Standard Working Hours, Full-time Onsite
 
Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a small team within Product Development division, focusing on the formulation and testing of thermoset resin, prepreg, and adhesive technologies for aerospace and other advanced composite applications.
  • Oversee end-to-end project management of new product development, including technical project planning, timeline execution, risk mitigation, and cross-divisional collaboration to ensure successful, timely outcomes.
  • Actively seek, evaluate, and implement innovative technologies, techniques, and materials to maintain and enhance market and technological leadership in composites.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to both the internal team and customers, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting product challenges, and offering solutions that advance product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all laboratory and technical activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, while continuously improving safety protocols and maintaining required documentation.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present high-quality, data-driven reports to internal and external stakeholders, supporting business cases, project status updates, and technical evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, participating frequently in meetings and providing technical consultation. This includes involvement with collaborative projects, customer programs, and technical service.
  • Collaborate with the sales and business development teams, supporting customer engagement efforts, expanding the company's industry presence, and participating in the patent filing process when necessary.
  • Contribute actively to the strategic direction, project pipeline, and competitive technological positioning by sharing input and collaborating with leadership and other teams.
  • Foster a positive, adaptive, and communicative team environment, embodying strong emotional intelligence and promoting team development, succession planning, and effective performance management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field, advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in product development, with proven people management and leadership skills.
  • Working experience in market and technical research, project management, and technology strategy.
