Principal Test Engineering Technician (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)  

  • Location: 100% onsite - Marlborough MA (01752)
  • Duration: 12 month contract - estimated to end 7/31/2026 – Contract extension possibilities
  • Pay: Negotiable depending on DIRECT RELATED experience
  • Type: W2 ONLY contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY arrangements can be made for this role)
  • Work Authorization: Must be currently in the United States with active employment authorization documents without current or future need for H1B Transfer or Sponsorship.

 

Who We Are Looking For:

A hands-on and analytical R&D Technician with a background in chemical/mechanical/electrical R&D and engineering to support the early prototyping of our next-generation bioprocess equipment. You will play a critical role in building prototypes to characterize performance and executing experiments that feed directly into our R&D strategies. Your work will help uncover the insights necessary to refine our processes and iterate to solve complex problems. Must be comfortable making progress with minimal guidance

 

Must Have:
  • Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes.
  • Assemble and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment (pumps, valves, wiring 4-20mA sensors, data collection)
  • Work independently with minimal guidance to solve abstract problems

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently build conceptual prototypes with multidisciplinary equipment
  • Support R&D engineers by running controlled experiments, gathering data, and reporting outcomes with scientific rigor
  • Log and interpret data in collaboration with engineers to inform process development and optimization
  • Prepare prototypes for internal and/or external customer evaluation and to ensure robustness
  • Conduct process monitoring activities, equipment capability & production trouble-shooting, identifying, communicating and implementing viable solutions
  • Set-up, operates, troubleshoots, and maintains R&D equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure reliable operation and consistent performance
  • Support safety and cleanliness in the lab by adhering to safety protocols and lab housekeeping standards

 

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science, or related field
  • At Least 7 years of experience in a research or analytical laboratory setting (industry or academic)
  • Electro-mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to write code a plus
  • Strong understanding of analytical principles and materials characterization techniques
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in data recording and sample management
  • Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional R&D teams
  • Passion for innovation and contributing to groundbreaking research
  • Machining experience a plus
