Kelly Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Process Control Technician in the Seadrift, Texas area! The Process Control Tech supports activities relating to the support of process automation systems and provides preventative maintenance and 7x24 troubleshooting support for installed base systems., as well as minimizes plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable. The Process Control Tech will have an overall knowledge of all current hardware, operating system software, networking systems and system software. The role requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. The Process Control Tech may act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Provides care and troubleshooting of the process automation systems, and their associated networks and interfaces.
- Provides corrective support in response to a system error condition or failure as the first point of escalation from the plant.
- Performs predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health checks on systems.
- Participates in software and hardware upgrades.
- Understands and follows all identified Dow Process Automation work processes, such as Problem Resolution and Request Management, S&OP Case entry, Engineering and Maintenance Asset database updates.
- Completes small project work including system installation, configuration, design and development.
- Tracks and redeploys assets.
- Provides training and knowledge transfer to plant system focal points, as well as other site support resources.
- Interfaces with others in the Plant who support process control on troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Monitors system diagnostics aligned with plan process control staff.
- Participates in risk assessment when activities to the system are required.
- Escalates issues to additional support resources and follow-ups, as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of process control, manufacturing or other related experience.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of an associate degree or three years or more of relevant military training/experience.
- Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.
- Work at heights, climbs stairs and ladders
- Wear all required personal protective equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
- Work in an area of intense or continuous noise
- Work in an area with hazardous materials
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time
- This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground
- Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.

- Troubleshooting: Ability to work through a systematic approach that is data driven to identify potential root causes and resolve problems efficiently. Troubleshooting equipment and quality issues.
- Diagnostic Methods: Diagnostic Methods refer to the techniques and procedures used to identify the nature and cause of a problem or condition.
- Distributed Control System (DCS): A distributed control system (DCS) is a computerized control system for a process or plant usually with many control loops, in which autonomous controllers are distributed throughout the system, but there is no central operator supervisory control. This is in contrast to systems that use centralized controllers; either discrete controllers located at a central control room or within a central computer. The DCS concept increases reliability and reduces installation costs by localizing control functions near the process plant, with remote monitoring and supervision.
- Data Analysis: Data analysis is a process of inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modelling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions, and supporting decision-making.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Proactive Problem Solving is a strategy that focuses on preventing issues before they arise by targeting the root causes of potential problems and planning preventive measures well in advance.
- Control Systems Programming: Control Systems Programming involves designing and implementing software to manage and automate the behavior of control systems. These systems are used to regulate and control the operation of machinery, processes, and devices
