Kelly Science & Clinical has a new direct hire opportunity for a QA & Food Safety Manager in Indianapolis, IN!

A Direct Hire Opportunity
Shift: M-F 8am-5pm
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

Summary
Responsible for ensuring product quality and food safety systems meet company, regulatory, and customer standards. Leads, trains, and implements compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and certifies systems including SQF, GFCO, Organic, Kosher, Vegan, Fair Trade, and Non-GMO.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and update quality and food safety SOPs/programs
  • Maintain product specifications and QA documentation; conduct audits and continuous verification
  • Train staff in food safety, security, compliance, and crisis management
  • Ensure adherence to GMP, regulatory requirements, and preventive controls (FSPCA)
  • Oversee sanitation, plant cleanliness, and Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Manage compliance with certification systems and regulatory agents
  • Lead resolution of quality issues, customer complaints, and corrective actions
  • Monitor supplier compliance and update supplier matrix
  • Develop and manage QA budget, staff training, and change management processes
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related field
  • SQF or GFSI certification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in food processing/QA
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (US and Canada), FSPCA, food microbiology/chemistry/toxicology
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing, 5-S, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Effective communicator, team builder, and decision maker; strong leadership qualities and emotional intelligence
