Kelly Services in partnership with a specialized manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist. The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for adhering to all inspection standards in accordance with Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and methods to ensure full compliance with customer requirements, product realization standards, and local, state, and federal regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop inspection plans and inspect incoming parts.
  • Prepare and perform 1st article inspections and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Support all corrective and preventative action activities for assigned programs.
  • Manage the equipment calibration system.
  • Work closely with planners, program managers, and engineering to resolve issues.

Duties:
  • Assist with the review and approval of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, design drawings, design specifications, and instructions/procedures for manufacturing, testing, and inspection activities to ensure compliance with Quality Systems requirements.
  • Inspect parts using the appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate reviews of discrepant material.
  • Investigate causes of defects/failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor quality trends and escalate issues for preventive action.
  • Provide input for reports and analysis.
  • Perform special tasks supporting Quality Program Objectives.
  • Assist with presentations to department and program managers, as well as customers.
  • Manage equipment calibration.
  • Ensure that all technical data is current and approved according to the latest revisions or amendments.
  • Maintain all required tools in a controlled manner and ensure current calibration.
  • Ensure that no unserviceable, un-airworthy, or unapproved parts are installed in any component for any reason.
  • Conduct preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections on all equipment as required by qualified repairmen.
  • Ensure all material is properly tagged for status and identification at all times.
  • Provide for continuity of inspection when work is not completed within the same day or shift.
  • Ensure rejected parts are handled to prevent their re-use as serviceable parts.
  • Maintain inspection files and records of all work performed for the specified period as traceable to customer work orders or production orders as stipulated on the status tag.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience as an inspector working in an ISO/9000 or AS-9100 environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
