Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our team at the Newington Warehouse. The QC Inspector will be responsible for verifying the quality of incoming and in-process goods, evaluating supplier delivery quality, and ensuring compliance with our quality standards.

Location: Newington Warehouse
Pay: Target $25/hour (Higher pay considered for well-qualified individuals)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections of incoming goods and in-process materials in accordance with drawings and standards.
  • Create and document quality notifications (Q-notifications) for any quality issues identified.
  • Investigate and address quality issues by determining root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate material disposition of non-conforming products, including rework, replacement, and acceptance under deviations.
  • Interface with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Implement and continuously improve quality control measures and processes.
  • Assist in managing the calibration of measuring devices.
  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect products.
  • Systematically follow up on quality problems to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions, both internally and with suppliers.
  • Escalate issues to management if adequate or effective measures are not initiated.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in quality control within the parts/components manufacturing field.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, with a detailed knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Proficient in using measuring equipment and quality inspection techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with standard software packages (MS Office) is required; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering a positive, can-do attitude.

Education:

  • A two-year technical degree or a suitable combination of education and work experience is required.

Additional Notes:

  • Candidates should be utility players who can support the full team.
  • Experience in quality control focused on incoming goods is essential.
  • Problem-solving skills are crucial; applicants should provide examples of problems they have resolved and the steps taken.
  • Solid communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Candidates currently pursuing a degree in manufacturing are encouraged to apply.
  • Physical ability to perform inspections and knowledge of tools such as digital calipers is required.
