What's a typical day as a QC Inspector I?

You'll perform manufacturing and inspection tasks across Initial Phase, Composites, and Final Phase to ensure aircraft parts and assemblies meet design specifications, FAA requirements, and quality standards.

You'll be:

  • Performing inspections using engineering drawings, route cards, inspection travelers, work instructions, and QA procedures

  • Conducting preliminary, progressive, and final inspections of aircraft structures and systems

  • Verifying functional operations, inspecting for FOD, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete

  • Witnessing, verifying, and documenting critical manufacturing process steps

  • Performing conformity and first article inspections in compliance with FAA-approved procedures

  • Ensuring proper use, handling, and storage of tools and equipment

  • Supporting employee safety, product safety, and risk-reduction initiatives

  • Participating in safety investigations and reporting workplace hazards immediately

  • Providing technical support to manufacturing personnel

  • Performing area inspections to ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications

  • Participating in continuous improvement activities

  • Performing other duties as assigned

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year of quality inspection experience or 2 years of aerospace manufacturing experience

  • Completion of an Other Formal Inspection Training Program (90 days)

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

  • Working knowledge of shop mathematics

  • Ability to read and interpret CATIA models or blueprints

  • Competency using basic shop tools and equipment

Preferred Experience:
  • 2 years of manufacturing or equivalent aerospace experience

  • Prior exposure to FAA-regulated environments

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
