Quality Sanitation Supervisor - Food Manufacturing
2nd & 3rd Shift
Mt Juliet, Tennessee  The Quality & Sanitation Supervisor will learn the principles of lean manufacturing and the value proposition to the specific Quality and Food Safety function and needs to have the technical background to support innovation, commercialization of new products and to excel in a lean, operationally excellent culture. The Quality & Sanitation Supervisor helps improve and maintain BRC and FMSA compliance by developing tools to drive continuous improvement and process control and is a frontline business leader helping to build a positive culture, to provide technical leadership, and training and to serve as role models for the team.  
 Job Responsibilities: 

  • Manage sanitation operations in the plant including master sanitation and allergen cleaning 
  • Enforcement of chemical handling safety  
  • Responsible for waste-stream management 
  • Direct supervision of Sanitation and Quality Assurance Technicians in a production environment 
  • Scheduling of Sanitation Technicians 
  • Provide leadership on ensuring facility is kept safe, clean, and well organized  
  • Partner cross-functionally to reduce risk within business and to strengthen people, programs, and processes 
  • Use Lean tools and Continuous improvement to develop Root Cause and Corrective Actions using RCAs, 5-Whys, Fishbone 
  • Assist in development, implementation and monitoring of a progressive, ongoing food safety program 
  • Provide technical support for projects, R&D, reformulations, commercialization, process and sanitary design 
  • Administer line audits process checks to ensure process control and product conformance to specification 
  • Participate in GFSI and external Food Safety & Quality Audits 
  • Conduct and review analytical analyses on incoming ingredients and finished products 
  • Measure and monitor environmental and plant conditions, including pre-operational startup 
  • Conduct plant food safety and security audits, continually look for food safety hazards 
  • Ensure compliance to equipment calibration and verification program 
  • Maintain Environmental Monitoring Program  
  • Ensure all Preventative Controls and FSMA compliance 
  • Conduct daily product evaluation along with cross functional R&D and Operations team 
  • Update, review and train on SOPs/SSOPs for food safety, Food Safety Plan, GMPs, et al 
  • Administer and train on BRC code and program requirements  
Job Requirements:
  • BS in Life Sciences or Engineering preferred, however, will consider experience in lieu of degree 
  • 2-5 years' experience in a food manufacturing facility 
  • Understanding of chemical safety, handling, and usage 
  • Understanding of Environmental Monitoring Programs for Pathogens 
  • Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems  
  • Understanding of HACCP/FSMA Regulations 
  • Prefer PCQI certification (not required, but preferred) 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with maintenance and production teams 
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement programs 
  • Familiarity with food safety and environmental regulations related to food manufacturing 
  • Ability to communicate and understand work instructions in English 
 Working Conditions/Physical Factors: 
  • Able to conduct work in adherence to BRC and COMPANY policies 
  • Able to work in environment containing nuts, peanuts, dairy, grains and other allergens 
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Ability to safely maneuver through a production and warehouse environment  
  • Ability to be flexible with work hours, shifts, and shifting priorities based on Production schedule 
 Job Details:
  • Flexible to work 2nd or 3rd shift
  • Temp-to-Hire
  • Shift differential
  • $65-75K; BOE
  • Eligible for potential bonus
  • 3 weeks of PTO; Full benefits
