Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a R&D Lab Technician near Bridgeview, IL.
Temp to Hire
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am -5pm
Compensation: $20-$25/hr DOE
Job Summary
The R&D Lab Technician, reporting to the R&D Manager, is an integral member of the company's team. Responsibilities include conducting stability testing and monitoring, evaluating product performance, preparing sales samples, formulating prototypes, and supporting technology transfer processes.
Essential Job Functions
- Awareness of organization Stability program/schedule for retrieval and testing Monthly Samples
- Perform stability testing, monitor samples throughout the testing period, and document all results
- Perform physical, olfactory (as applicable) and visual evaluation of product, performing a comparison against control samples or descriptions (as applicable)
- Test Aerosol Products for Pressure, Spray Rate and spray pattern
- Measure pH, viscosity and specific gravity of raw materials and finished products
- Utilize appropriate instruments to complete a thorough analysis of a product to generate specification
- Perform routine calibration of laboratory equipment's/instruments
- Crimp aerosol valves and measure dimensions for accuracy.
- Pressure fill aerosol cans with propellant for R&D lab samples
- Assist chemists to fill lab batches and ship samples
- Demonstrate strong technical expertise and proficiency in navigating regulated environments and cross-functional responsibilities
- Daily upkeep of area in function with good observation skills. Tasks include but are not limited to organization of lab materials, cleaning and storing glassware
- Execute assigned tasks using learned techniques
- Coordinate daily operational activities
- Apply experience and training to guide minor decision-making
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop minor protocols and procedures for everyday tasks
- Order lab supplies and chemicals as needed
- Perform special projects as assigned by manager which enhance and contribute to the growth of R&D Department
- A bachelor's degree in Life Sciences
- Good problem-Solving skills and attention to detail
- Computer literacy and experience in a Windows environment is required. Familiarity with Excel and Word is preferred
- Written Communication and Verbal Communication
- Ability to multi-task and maintain precise organization in a fast-paced environment
- Can take initiatives
- Dependability, as demonstrated through an excellent attendance record
- Willingness to accept other duties, as assigned
