Kelly Science has immediate needs for a R&D Lab Technician at one or our growing clients located in Sarasota FL.

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Hourly Pay Rate: $24
Contract role with potential to turn into a full term position
 

Job Description:

• Conduct microbiological testing, including microbial identification, viability, and enumeration to ensure quality and safety in the production process.
• Oversee fermentation processes, ensuring proper conditions are maintained for optimal microbial growth and product yield.
• Prepare and maintain cultures, media, and solutions for use in laboratory experiments and production activities.
• Perform regular environmental monitoring to assess the microbial quality of manufacturing and storage areas.
• Develop and optimize fermentation protocols to improve efficiency, scalability, and product consistency.
• Conduct microbial risk assessments and implement control measures to prevent contamination throughout the fermentation process.
• Review and interpret microbiological data, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to microbial contamination and fermentation conditions.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant industry regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and review of batch records, SOPs, and regulatory documentation related to fermentation and microbiology activities.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing technical support related to microbiology and fermentation processes.

Requirements:

• BS in Life Sciences degree (Microbial physiology and Molecular biology would be best but open to others)
• 1 year industry experience in a cGMP regulated environment
• Experience with microbiology or fermentation highly desired
