Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Technology Center Manager for a direct-hire (permanent) position with one of our biotechnology partners.
This position offers the opportunity to lead cutting-edge R&D initiatives, manage advanced laboratory analyses, and drive innovation in bioprocess science, while mentoring technical staff and engaging with customers and industry leaders.
Technology Center Manager – Direct Hire (Permanent)Schedule: Full-time, day shift, 100% on-site
Target Pay Rate: $100,000-$140,000 (dependent on relevant leadership and fermentation/enzymatic experience)

- Lead all aspects of the Technology Center, including Research & Development, Advanced Lab Analyses, and Customer Outreach programs.
- Guide R&D initiatives in fermentation, enzymatic activity, and process optimization to advance the innovative product portfolio.
- Collaborate across departments and external experts to integrate the latest advancements and best practices from bench to industrial scale.
- Mentor and support Technology Center staff to foster continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Deliver technical presentations at industry events, customer sites, and internal training sessions, effectively communicating complex scientific concepts.
- Represent the Technology Center as a thought leader, building productive relationships across the biotechnology and bioprocessing community.
- Troubleshoot complex technical challenges using advanced tools and scientific software (e.g., JMP).
- Contribute to Stage Gate product development and successful commercial launch processes.
- Develop and enforce R&D SOPs, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance.
- Prepare and lead internal and customer training programs, including lab roundtables and workshops.
- Oversee lab operations to maximize productivity, safety, and quality.
Core Experience:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related life science.
- At least 3 years of management and leadership experience in an R&D or laboratory setting.
- Strong enzyme biochemistry or yeast fermentation experience.
- Proven success managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards.
- Experience presenting complex technical information to both scientific and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and inspire technical teams.
Technical Qualifications (Required):
- Advanced proficiency with data science software (JMP or equivalent) for modeling and interpretation of complex data.
- Expertise in fermentation, enzymatic activity, and process optimization.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite for data management, reporting, and presentations.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical challenges in bioprocess workflows.
- Familiarity with Stage Gate processes for product development.
Technical Qualifications (Preferred):
- Industry experience in bioprocessing, fermentation technology, or biotechnology product development.
- Technical skills including: HPLC, GC-MS, food analysis testing (moisture, protein/fat, etc.), enzymatic assays
- Strong background in customer-facing technical support or scientific consulting.
