Research Associate; In-Vivo Pharmacology - Torrance, CA
 
Summary:
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a skilled researcher to work for a pharmaceutical client based in Torrance, CA. As an in-vivo Research Associate, you will perform pharmacology research on small rodents and use many molecular biology techniques to track and assess behavior and efficacy of treatments. This role is part of a small and growing team of researchers in a start-up environment.
 
Details:

• Pay rate: $35/hr+ DOE
• Shift: Monday - Friday, day shift
• Duration: Temp with opportunity for hire

 
Responsibilities:

• Perform in-vivo studies, including dosing, tissue collection, and monitoring of animal health and behavior
• Work closely with multidisciplinary scientific groups
• Develop biomedical and cell biology assays for PD, MoA, biomarker discovery, and small molecule discovery screening
• Handling small rodents
• Performing basic manipulations and blood processing of serum and plasma
• Cell line expansion and cell culture under different treatment conditions
• RNA isolation and purification
• Use of qPCR, ELISA, Western Blot, and more techniques
• Protein extraction from cell cultures and animal tissues
• Use of biomarker techniques

 
Qualifications:

• MS or PhD in biology, microbiology, or related field preferred; BS with equivalent lab experience will be considered
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, protein/DNA/RNA extraction
• Experience with small animal handling
• Ability to perform and troubleshoot western blot assays
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and statistical analysis
• Ability to perform intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, and oral gavage injections on mice
