  Job Summary: Are you a data-driven professional with a passion for retail? We are looking for a Retail Merchandising Specialist - Analyst to join our client's' dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing sales trends, customer behavior, and market data to optimize our merchandising strategies. Your insights will play a critical role in driving product placement, inventory management, and overall sales performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improving product placement, inventory levels, and merchandising strategies.
  • Performance Reporting: Generate and present regular reports on product performance, sales trends, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision-making.
  • Performance Analysis: Track and analyze the effectiveness of merchandising efforts using sales data and customer feedback. Make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and work with the inventory team to ensure optimal product availability. Identify slow-moving items and recommend markdowns or promotional strategies.
  • Category Management: Assist in the development and execution of category management strategies, including product assortment, pricing, and promotional planning.
  • Market Research: Conduct competitive analysis and market research to stay ahead of industry trends and customer preferences. Use findings to enhance our merchandising approach.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Merchandising, Marketing, and Sales teams to align merchandising strategies with overall business goals. Provide analytical support for new product launches and promotional events.
  • Merchandising Optimization: Evaluate the effectiveness of in-store displays, planograms, and product placements. Recommend adjustments based on data-driven insights.
  • Sales Forecasting: Contribute to sales forecasting efforts by analyzing historical sales data and market trends. Assist in setting sales targets and budgeting for merchandising activities.
  • Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to understand product performance and customer preferences. Use this information to refine merchandising strategies and enhance the overall shopping experience.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in data collection, reporting, and analysis to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Job Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in retail analysis, merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and retail management software. Experience with SQL or similar database management tools is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple data sets and ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights clearly to various stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of retail operations, merchandising principles, and customer behavior.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
