Job Title: Vice President – Business Development- Remote USA only

Purpose of the Role: The Vice President – Business Development will play a crucial role in expanding our client relationships, enhancing our service portfolio, and achieving ambitious sales targets. This position will oversee the entire sales process, from opportunity identification through proposal delivery, while ensuring seamless post-sales transitions to our project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:

  • Build and promote a strong pipeline for our core and new service offerings.
  • Achieve revenue growth by meeting or exceeding annual targets for total contract value and revenue.
  • Cultivate business development opportunities with new customers to support established lines of business.
  • Identify and capitalize on new revenue opportunities.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies for both pre-assigned clients and newly identified companies.
  • Lead internal stakeholders through the sales process, ensuring high-quality sales presentations and proposals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive and close deals.
  • Provide monthly progress reports and update on closed/won deals.
  • Stay current with industry knowledge to inform strategies and capitalize on trends.
Post-Sales Management:
  • Oversee follow-ups related to sales and ensure the completion of contractual documents.
  • Facilitate smooth hand-offs to project teams by transferring knowledge of client needs and expectations.
  • Coordinate with Project Management and functional leadership to swiftly address client issues and concerns.

Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment with peers.
  • Travel as needed to meet business requirements.
Competencies and Skills:
  • Proven experience in relationship management within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Established history of closing sales and managing key accounts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong strategic sales acumen, results orientation, and resilience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and the ability to influence without authority.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a CRO or life sciences company, with expertise in pharmacovigilance, medical writing, and medical information.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and adaptability to diverse international markets.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
