Position Title: Senior Discovery Immunologist

Salary: $150,000-180,000/year

Overview
We are seeking driven and collaborative scientists to spearhead research initiatives focused on the discovery and development of innovative therapies for infectious diseases. The ideal candidates will contribute to both early-stage discovery and translational research, with an emphasis on identifying and characterizing novel therapeutic targets and moving programs toward clinical development. This role involves leading and managing projects that encompass both fundamental research and translational applications.

Responsibilities
Successful candidates will lead or support biological investigations across both new and ongoing projects. Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Independently designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments to support the initiation and progression of therapeutic candidates.
  • Designing, executing, and analyzing in vivo pharmacology experiments to validate therapeutic targets and lead early-stage research into the biology of novel targets and pathways.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and highly collaborative team environment.
  • Presenting research findings and recommendations to senior staff, preparing research reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts, and contributing to the preparation of INDs and patent filings.
  • Managing and training Research Associates, fostering a "lead from the bench" approach in the design and execution of laboratory experiments.
  • Collaborating closely with academic partners and external entities to advance research objectives.
  • Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas, objectives, and results.
 Qualifications and Requirements:
 
Educational and Experience
  • PhD in immunology or related fields with extensive postdoctoral research experience is required; preferably with 2+ years of experience in a biotech setting and a strong publication record.
Technical Skills and Expertise
  • Experience with immune cell-based assays, including cytokine secretion assays, cell proliferation assays, and ELISAs.
  • Expertise in aseptic techniques for cell culture and cell isolation.
  • Experience with multi-color flow cytometry and data analysis (FlowJo).
  • Experience designing and conducting in vivo pharmacology studies.
  • Experience with PK/PD analysis and familiarity with bioanalytical methodologies.
  • Experience with imaging techniques is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Prism, and other programs to create and distribute reports.
Additional Experience
  • Experience working with multiple therapeutic modalities is highly preferred (antisense oligonucleotides, antibodies, antivirals, etc.)
Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and willingness to mentor junior scientists.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin is preferred, as the candidate will collaborate closely with the research team in China and will be required to travel to their China office.
Travel
  • Valid passport: Candidates must possess a valid passport with the ability to maintain its validity throughout the duration of employment.
  • Experience with international travel is preferred.
