About the position
This position is for a Service Engineer in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. You will conduct onboard service, preventative maintenance and commissioning on Autronica Fire Detection and Integrated Safety Management Systems to ensure proper functioning. You will Solve highly complex problems and serve as a key resource on varied tasks with our expanding clientele.
Key Responsibilities
• Service and Commissioning work onboard.
• Remote services from the office.
• Technical services and customer support.
• Travelling globally.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (must to haves):
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years Electronics systems with Computer Networking Systems experience.
• Ability to maintain a valid International Passport and travel up to 70% of the time in the US and Caribbean, but also Global.
• Must be physically fit to perform duties that involve climbing numerous stairs, using a ladder to embark/disembark ships, and work efficiently in narrow spaces.
• Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs. Preferred Qualifications (assets):
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/IT (Network administration related).
• Ability to obtain an offshore safety training certification.
• 2+ years' experience Servicing Maritime Fire Detection Systems
• Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience.
• Microsoft, Linux, Unix Systems practical experience.
• Knowledge of networked systems (Redundancy, HUB`s, switches, optical)
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair of hardware and software
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
