Description

This position is responsible for performing numerous functions associated with the manufacturing operation.  This includes activities pertaining to soldering, independent machine set up, changeover, and operation of semi-automated and automated machines for production of various products.  This position will ensure that products meet delivery and quality requirements.  $19.50/hr.  Monday-Friday. 3pm-11pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for independent set up, and changeover of various machines/equipment, computers, presses, and fixtures determined by job specifications.
  • Perform simple pre-determined machine/equipment adjustments
  • Recognize, communicate, and support improvement potentials and efforts.
  • Prepare production orders including order selection, conditioning, and sequencing
  • Recognize equipment/automated testing parameters, performance indicators and targets; determine setup of machine/equipment, and fixtures; coordinate issues and improvements with technician.
  • Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Performing required daily preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines/equipment including general housekeeping of the machine/equipment and area.
  • Supports training of associates in manufacturing procedures and flow-line practices.
  • Supports Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing practices.
  • Performs quality screening and inspection of various parts and assemblies according to quality standards.  Fully understand quality standards and communicate material non-conformances.
  • Performs soldering, hand assembly,  rework, and packaging of miscellaneous parts and assemblies 
  • Responsible for recording assembly data and completion of all associated routing, quality documents, and other related forms
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Follow procedures associated with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, and company procedures.
  • Follow necessary PPE Requirements for a given work center.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate Degree in Mechanical/Electronic Technology or Technical Experience
  • Electronic assembly experience
  • IPC-610 skilled/certified
  • Skilled and experienced to solder Through Hole and SMT components
  • Minimum of 1 year of practical experience in factory automation or mentored and qualified on machine by in-house personnel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English written assembly prints a must.
  • Excellent computer skills, experience including Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to use math to analyze, troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to use tools, calipers and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English written production documents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Must obtain a 50% on standardized Job Skills test on initial try. If less than 50% is achieved candidate cannot apply for position.  Above 50% but below 80% training will be provided within 120 days.  80% must be achieved within 120 days.
  • Able to drive (using own vehicle) or fly to distant supplier, customer, mandatory training session, and stay overnight for periods of up to two weeks
  • Must be willing to be cross trained in several assembly and machine operational functions to meet constantly changing production requirements
  • Must be willing to work overtime periods including weekends to meet production demands.
  • If required must pass an English literacy test or complete the necessary training and show improvement in English skills including, reading, writing, and comprehension within 180 days after accepting the position.
  • If required must pass standardized Print Reading / Measurement test with an 80% or higher or go through a Print Reading / Measurement class and then pass the test with an 80% or higher within 120 days
  • Must pass an IPC 610 CIS certification training
  • Must be able to stand for at least 4 hours
  • Must be able to lift or move containers weighing up to a maximum of 50 pounds
  • Attendance in accordance with company policies.
  • Able to push 4-wheeled cart with 100 pound load.
  • Able to use pallet jack with 300 pound load
