Job Title: K–2 Special Education Teacher

Position Overview:
Pediatric Therapeutic Services is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in grades K–2 within a dynamic K–8 educational setting. The ideal candidate will create engaging, individualized instruction that promotes academic progress, positive behavior, and social-emotional growth. This full-time 1099 position works under the direction of the Special Education Supervisor and plays a key role in ensuring each child's success.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery
• Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with each student's IEP goals.
• Incorporate evidence-based strategies, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), visual supports, and social skills instruction.
• Differentiate instruction for small groups and individual learners to meet diverse learning styles and developmental levels.

IEP Development & Management
• Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and families to create and implement effective IEPs.
• Monitor progress, update goals, and adjust instruction based on assessment data and student needs.
• Maintain thorough documentation of student growth and performance.

Behavioral Support
• Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters engagement and minimizes disruptions.
• Implement and monitor proactive behavioral interventions and supports.
• Model and reinforce positive social and emotional behaviors.

Collaboration & Family Engagement
• Partner with general educators, paraprofessionals, and related service providers—including speech, occupational, and physical therapists—to ensure cohesive support.
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and strategies to support learning at home.
• Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Compliance & Reporting
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal special education regulations.
• Maintain accurate records for IEPs, student progress, and behavioral plans.
• Advocate for appropriate resources and supports to enhance learning outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Education (Master's preferred).
• Pennsylvania State Special Education Certification (K–8 or N–12) – Required.
• Strong instructional, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in teaching foundational math and literacy concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Dependable, responsive, and committed to student success.
