Spray Painter/Coater
Direct Hire Opportunity – East Syracuse, NY Area

Pay Range: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Position Summary:
The Spray Painter is responsible for applying coatings to molded plastic parts according to job specifications. This role ensures adherence to quality and safety standards, maintains necessary records, and supports equipment upkeep. Key Responsibilities:

  • Position parts correctly for the painting process.
  • Mix primers and paints per specification, including adding thinners as needed.
  • Apply masking tape according to customer requirements.
  • Monitor drying times of painted parts to ensure quality.
  • Move painted and unpainted parts to designated areas, completing accurate paperwork.
  • Apply primer and coatings using an air-operated sprayer on various plastic parts.
  • Inspect painted parts for finish quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Track production counts and route completed jobs as required.
  • Requisition materials to maintain inventory levels.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ensure safety compliance by following established procedures and using PPE.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in industrial or automotive spray painting preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding paint finish and color matching.
  • Basic math skills.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs as required.
  • Must have good visual acuity for assessing paint finish and color shades.
  • Manual dexterity required for precision work.
