Sr. Electrical Engineer | Falls Church, VA

 

Our client seeks an Electrical Engineer to join their Integrated Communications Systems Group division. The Integrated Communications System Group (ICSG) offers world-class digital communications systems and engineering services that meet the stringent requirements of the DoD and are flexible to support the diverse needs of civilian agencies and the private sector.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Theoretical and applied engineering design competency in digital logic circuits, analog circuits, digital audio circuits.
  • Systems engineering includes establishing and meeting product requirements for performance, packaging, environmental conditions, and product verification testing.
  • High level of knowledge and creative ability in working with a multi-discipline engineering team including hardware engineering, mechanical engineering, firmware design for PLD's and FPGA devices, and software engineering.
  • Interact with technicians, consultants, developers, engineers, analysts, marketing, and other professionals.
  • At a high level, participate in the concept, design/development, fabrication, test, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of existing and new technical systems.
  • Develop detailed design specifications and map the relationship of design requirements into sub-tier documents for design, test, and verification.
  • Develop technical performance measurement criteria for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate with the Program Manager and Lead Engineer and assist in developing performance, schedule, and cost metrics for tracking projects.
  • Prepare and deliver technical PPT presentations and represent ICSG at expositions and trade shows.
  • Prepare document deliverables according to customer and military specifications.
  • Participate in proposal preparation, including conceptual design to meet customer requirements, technical volume preparation, and cost estimation.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • An advanced electrical engineering degree is desirable.
  • 5 or more year's electrical engineering design and development experience.
  • Must have good troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous work experience in DoD and related government agency programs is a plus.
  • Experience in several areas: human engineering, systems safety engineering, reliability and maintainability engineering, weight management, requirements management, risk identification and management, and supportability planning.
  • EMI/EMC and TEMPEST experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs and schematic capture programs (Altium preferred) are required.
  • Experience with FPGA devices (Microsemi preferred) is a plus.
  • Experience with other engineering development PC applications experience is desired.
  • Experience with C/C++, VHDL, and LabView is a plus.
  • Prior experience in wireless communications is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
  • Preparing PowerPoint slides and making customer presentations is a desired skill.
  • Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR and EAR (i.e. U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or protected individual such as a refugee or asylee).
