About the Opportunity
Are you a forward-thinking scientist with a passion for innovation and sustainable chemistry? We are seeking a Senior or Principal Research Scientist to join a high-impact Global Discovery & Innovation team in Atlanta. In this strategic role, you'll lead the exploration of new technologies that shape the future of water-intensive industries.
This position offers the opportunity to work on early-phase innovation—from idea incubation to proof-of-concept, technology scouting, and external partnership development. Your work will influence long-term growth and sustainability goals, while collaborating with experts globally. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the exploration of new technologies through idea generation, screening, and incubation.
  • Design and manage proof-of-concept studies and innovation projects to validate commercial potential.
  • Scout for new partners, evaluate external technologies, and contribute to strategic collaborations.
  • Perform techno-economic evaluations to support feasibility and scale-up.
  • Support IP generation, including drafting and reviewing patents.
  • Collaborate with global R&D and business stakeholders to align technical milestones with commercialization goals.
  • Prepare and present technical results and strategic insights to stakeholders across the organization.
Ideal Background
  • M.S. with 5+ years OR Ph.D. with 5–10 years of experience in:
  • Inorganic chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, or process chemistry
  • Construction materials or mineral processing/beneficiation chemistries (a strong plus)
  • Product development, scale-up, and technology transfer
  • Building external partnerships and patenting strategies
  • Demonstrated success in:
  • Running innovation or new product development projects
  • Performing techno-economic assessments and strategic planning
  • Working in cross-functional and multicultural teams
  • Communicating technical outcomes to non-technical stakeholders What We Offer
