Sr. Sensor Systems Engineer
 
Kelly SETT, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Sr. Sensor Systems Engineer for a multi-year contract at one of our Global clients' Research and Development facilities in Auburn, MI (Near Midland)Our client develops electronics, embedded systems, and magnetics, used in precision motor-controlled applications across multiple global industries.

Target Pay Rate: $60.00-70.00 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW
You'll focus on sensor subsystem development for advanced automotive technologies, including steer-by-wire power steering systems and other chassis or propulsion systems. Ideally, you'll have 7-10+ years' experience & a deep technical expertise in sensorrequirements, calibration, and testing, as well as strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage sensor subsystem requirements for power steering systems and other chassis/propulsion systems.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with customers, suppliers, and sub-suppliers to ensure alignment on sensor specifications and performance.
  • Lead and manage Product Development Teams (PDTs) for each sensor subsystem being released.
  • Perform sensor programming, calibration, and testing to meet functional and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to execute DFMEA, PFMEA, and develop Control Plans for sensor systems.
  • Drive quality and reliability initiatives across the sensor development lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of sensor subsystems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in automotive sensor systems engineering or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of steer-by-wire systems, chassis, and propulsion sensor technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with sensor programming, calibration, and testing.
  • Expertise in DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plan development.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
