Kelly is seeking a Staff Accountant to work with our client, a successful distribution company, on a direct hire basis – starting ASAP!
The Staff Accountant will handle the following key responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded and balanced.
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, track payments, and ensure that all vendor accounts are accurate and up-to-date. Resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Accounts Receivable: Process and track customer payments, assist with collections, and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payments and resolution of any issues.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring that all transactions are accounted for and any discrepancies are identified and addressed.
- Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end closing activities, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
- Expense Reporting: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial operations to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of documents and schedules for internal and external audits.
- System Maintenance: Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounting software and records, assisting with any system updates or troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field. Knowledge of full-cycle accounting processes is required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics preferred) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
