Staff Accountant opening in Cranston, RI

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per year
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (On-Site)

About Us:
Our client is a dynamic and fast-paced organization seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will play a key part in month-end close activities, financial analysis, and cost accounting. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, high-energy environment.

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting

  • Prepare and post 100-200 journal entries per month

  • Perform month-end close activities, including reconciliations and fluctuation analysis

  • Conduct financial analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts

  • Assist in preparing schedules for quarterly and year-end external audits

Account & Cost Analysis

  • Review purchase order cost confirmations and resolve discrepancies

  • Assist in developing and improving accounting procedures as the company scales

  • Participate in special projects as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables – ability to create from scratch) required 

  • Experience with Great Plains (Dynamics GP) preferred

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities
