What's a typical day as a Structural Mechanic Trainee?

You'll be trained to:

• Perform fitting of detail parts and basic drilling and riveting operations

• Use basic mechanic hand tools such as pneumatic drills, rivet guns, countersinks, reamers, and files

• Align and assemble parts using fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners

• Read and follow work orders, blueprints, and specification sheets

• Ensure work meets quality standards and instructions from manufacturing leads or Quality Control Inspectors

• Observe, assist, and gradually work with less supervision as skills are developed

• Maintain good housekeeping and follow all safety practices

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:

• High School Diploma or GED (required)

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work

• Entry-level experience or enrollment in a Technical Aviation program (preferred)

• Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math

• Ability to read and comprehend basic documents and instructions

• Good communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking, listening)

• Basic computer and keyboarding skills

• Professional attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team

• Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 lbs

• Availability to work any shift, if needed
