Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) is seeking 2 Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide school-based services for a local school district in Middletown, DE

Job Title: Itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (2 Positions)

Location: In-person (on-site services required)

Contract Dates: ASAP through June 16, 2026
Summer School: Optional

Position Overview:
We are seeking two qualified Itinerant Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide direct and consultative services to students across multiple school sites. The combined caseload for both positions is approximately 53 students, ranging in age from preschool through high school. Services are delivered in person, supporting students in accessing their educational programs and meeting IEP goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide itinerant instructional and support services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

  • Deliver direct instruction and/or consultation services in accordance with students' IEPs

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families

  • Support communication access, including use of assistive listening devices and accommodations

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and service logs

  • Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and educational planning

  • Travel between assigned school sites as needed

Caseload Details:

  • Approximately 53 students total between two teachers

  • Student ages range from preschool through high school

  • Variety of educational placements and support needs

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification/license (state-appropriate)

  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across a range of ages preferred

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in an itinerant model

  • In-person availability required

Work Schedule & Contract:

  • Full-time, itinerant position

  • Contract runs from ASAP through June 16, 2026

  • Summer school opportunities available but not required

Work Environment:

  • In-person services only

  • Travel between school sites required
