Overview

As a Validation Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive validation and verification testing for software, hardware, and mechanical systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Test Protocol Development, Execution & Reporting
• Develop and execute test plans and protocols for electrical, mechanical, and vision-based systems.
• Oversee product verification and validation processes, including Alpha and Beta testing.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide feedback to engineering teams.
• Identify, document, and escalate design issues encountered during testing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to investigate and resolve test failures.
• Maintain clear and detailed test reports documenting all findings and observations.

Test Fixture Development

• Define functional design requirements for new test fixtures and cycle testers.
• Identify opportunities for improvements in test processes and methodologies.
• Develop and document test fixture functionality using Arduino or similar platforms.
• Ensure all test fixtures meet current design and validation requirements.

Other Responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements into acceptance criteria for test cases.
• Train test technicians on test methods and procedures.
• Ensure project deadlines are met and communicate risks to management.
• Maintain adequate supplies of test materials and equipment.
• Assist in prototype assembly and testing, including Alpha field testing.
• Perform environmental testing to evaluate product durability and compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering or product testing environment.
• Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
• Product verification/validation experience in a regulated industry is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer operating systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with undercar service equipment is a plus.
