Warehouse / Material Handler
 

Job Title: Material Handler - General Labor

Location: San Jose, CA

Shift: M-F 8-5

Position Type: Temporary

Payrate: $25 DOE


Job Summary:

As a Material Handler - General Labor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement, handling, and assembly of units within the production area. The ideal candidate will be committed to quality, safety, and productivity, and able to work in a team-oriented environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Move and transport materials, supplies, and finished products to and from designated areas within the facility.
  • Assist in the assembly of units as per company specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in compliance with safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance on handling equipment to ensure optimal operation.
  • Report any material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or other issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, with a focus on safety regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials up to [insert weight] pounds.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Basic math and communication skills.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.

 

Working Conditions:

  • The role requires physical stamina, including prolonged standing, lifting, bending, and operating machinery.
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with variable temperatures and noise levels.
