Job Title: Warehouse Sorter Operator Location: Savannah
Pay: $17/hr
Shift: Monday - Friday, 5pm until finished
Job Details:
The Sorter Operator is responsible for monitoring multiple conveyor lanes feeding into liquor box trucks in the wine and spirit section. This includes inspecting wave sequence integrity, resolving case jams, and handling breakages. The role also involves tracking wave sequences via the WCS Monitor, managing loaders, and addressing the no-read line. An hourly productivity report must be sent to all leaders.
Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Six months of related experience preferred
  • Experience operating a pallet jack, forklift, and power equipment is advantageous
Responsibilities:
  • Initiate the system 30 minutes pre-shift, ensuring mechanical and software functions are optimal.
  • Communicate daily volumes to various segments using the P.A. system.
  • Inform each loader about wave closeouts for each truck via P.A. system.
  • Utilize the logistics management system to ensure case accountability and proper wave sequence.
  • Properly close out loads with the correct milk tray or sticker.
  • Identify damages and safely clean spills.
  • Safely operate conveyor lines; perform emergency shutdowns when needed.
  • Report any safety, software, or mechanical issues to management.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly facility.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
  • Proficiency in a non-temperature-controlled environment exposed to heat, humidity, and inclement weather
  • Occasional work in refrigerated settings
  • Exposure to moderate to loud noise and dust/fumes from equipment
Physical Requirements:
  • Reliable attendance
  • Frequent operation of pallet jack/forklift if necessary
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, lift, and efficiently use hands and fingers
  • Capable of lifting (50-65 lbs), including overhead lifting
  • Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, and distance judgment
