  Federal Programs-Success Coach
Position open until filled
Salary:  $44,793 - $55,771 DOE (for 195-day work year)   Class Summary:
Under the direction of a Federal Programs Administrator, coordinates services and support to increase student success in school engagement, career readiness, and academic achievement.  The Student Success Coach addresses the unique needs of eligible Federal Programs students as identified by program and district goals. The Student Success Coach will serve as a Liaison to provide supplemental support for academic success. This position collaborates and builds relationships with students and Stakeholders to improve student attendance, academic achievement, and career readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prefer completion of two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained as associate's degree or met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness.
  • Must be able to exert 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently. 
Essential Functions of the Position:
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with all Stakeholders.
  • Serves as a liaison between MSBSD Federal Programs and Stakeholders to assist in identification of student needs.
  • Positively promotes, publicizes, and connects students and families to support services.
  • Communicates with Stakeholders. Contacts parents/legal guardians by telephone and via email to identify barriers and resources needed to ensure student success.
  • Communicates with students consistently using the schedule criteria and documentation requirements.
  • Communicates with Federal Programs consistently following the schedule and documentation guidelines.
  • Communicates with school staff to understand and/or ensure students are supported. Attends team meetings and parent conferences to provide information and collaborates with students, parents, instructional staff, and school administration.
  • Attends professional development and collaborative team time at the school and district level.
  • Provides tutoring/tutoring referrals and other resources for students as needed.
  • Uses technology to receive, track, and maintain accurate records of services and opportunities provided.
  • Follows the Student Success Coach guidelines and schedule.
  • Assists with recruitment of students into various Federal Programs and Career and Technical Education courses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the assigned school(s).
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong time management skills.
