Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for effectively managing the plant functions/operations activities to meet performance objectives in annual budget, cost improvement, HSE, process safety, reliability, availability, productivity, quality, delivery, and regulatory compliance.
- Provides leadership and direction in establishing a safe and efficient operation in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Implements Plant strategies in alignment with Global Operations SC strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus to achieve key objectives.
- Drives continuous improvements/performance and achieves results through the development of employees.
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards regarding:
- Budgets
- Capital
- Number of employees: 30 or less
- Economic
- And other duties as assigned to safely perform.
- Has responsibility to manage HSE activity as one of management member of ENEOS Materials Kashima combined plant consisted by ENEOS Materials, Japan Butyl and JV.
- Ensure Kraton's business right through the daily operation of joint venture especially in manufacturing and R&D activities.
- Documents results and status of JV's business activities as the report to Kraton.
- Organizes Board of Director's meeting and Shareholder's meeting of JV.
- Provides support to managers all of the section of JV as a top management of JV plant.
- Involves one of management member of Kashima combined plant.
- Prepared CAPEX plan and productivity improvement activities for JV plant.
- A minimum of 10 years in the manufacturing industry in elastomer plant or chemical plant with technology background such as chemical engineering or polymer science (related industry experience should include chemical or other process manufacturing) in Japan. Have to well understanding climate and custom of Japanese chemical plant located in the chemical complex.
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources).
- Proven managerial experience and strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- English proficiency is required. (Reading and writing skills are required. Speaking and listening skills are preferred.)
- Fuluent in Japanese.
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer science.
- Logical judgment, analytical thinking with practical daily use of those for getting results.
- Prudential behavior and saying under delicate standpoint in joint venture.
- Strong vocation to complete task.
- Knowledge of plant management, process design machinery, chemical reaction/analysis, financing/accounting, administration, procurement, HSE activity, etc. in elastomer plant or chemical plant.
- Demonstrative ability to communication with key person/top management of outside company.
