At Kraton, we make a Positive Difference, and we are looking for individuals who are also looking to make a difference in their jobs, for our customers and to the world.  We are looking to hire a key member of our Operations team at our Belpre, Ohio Location. 

 

The Plant Duty Supervisor (PDS) is responsible for leading and directing our shift operations team to meet Kraton's safety, environmental, quality, reliability, and production goals. This role is integral to maintaining the Belpre Plant's safety culture, achieving our objectives of delivering innovative and competitive polymers, and developing technicians to be motivated, knowledgeable and successful.  This is a 12-Hour rotating shift position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Leader, ensuring readiness and effective response when needed.  
  • Manage Process and People during HSES events.
  • Ensure daily operational compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Lead, manage, and direct operations shift teams to meet all safety, environmental, quality, and production goals.
  • Coordinate production efforts to meet scheduling requirements and maximize efficiency.
  • Motivate, coach, and develop technicians to promote a strong safety culture and a high-performance team.
  • Learn unit equipment and processes to assist in effective troubleshooting; partner with operators and maintenance teams to strengthen troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Build effective working relationships across operations, maintenance, engineering, and other functional groups.
  • Manage shift activities and resources to control costs and maintain alignment with budget expectations.
  • Accurately collect, document, communicate, and present all critical operational details.
  • Participate in incident investigations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead off hours Maintenance activities.
  • Will manage 15-20 direct reports.
Required Skills
  • 3–5+ years chemical manufacturing leadership (preferably 5–10)
  • Personal Safety and Process Safety Management (PSM) experience preferred
  • Strong unit operations leadership and technical plant knowledge
  • Skilled in change management, continuous improvement, and root-cause problem-solving
  • Team coaching and development experience
  • Proficient in MS Office; SAP experience preferred
Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • HS diploma/GED required; technical or college training preferred
