At Kraton, we make a Positive Difference, and we are looking for individuals who are also looking to make a difference in their jobs, for our customers and to the world.  We are looking to hire a key member of our Research & Development team at our Savannah location.

The focus of this position will be on the applications and technical service work for the various pine chemicals markets that we serve, with a strong focus on dispersion technology. This position will contribute to the use of our raw materials and end-use products in various applications to support new product development research and customer requests to help us reach our business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execution of research work surrounding the applications and technical support for the various markets we serve in the Pine Chemicals business, under guidance from supervisor or project leader.   
  • A key focus will be formulation and application testing around our dispersion technology
  • Conduct physical, rheological, and mechanical testing for formulated products
  • Supporting quality investigations and evaluation of process changes requested from our dispersion plant in Panama City FL. 
  • Provide data to support technical service and sales to manage customer needs.  
  • Organizing data and report results from experiments to supervisor, project lead,  and applications team
  • Use of specialized equipment and ability to troubleshoot.
Required Skills
  • Flexibility to learn new technologies and applications as opportunities are identified. 
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with guidance from supervisor and other project leaders  
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.  
  • Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional, multi-national and diverse backgrounds.
  • Previous technical customer interaction is a plus. 
  • Water-based formulation and adhesive experience a plus.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • High School degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
