POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location. This individual will be responsible for a team of 3 direct reports and 20 technicians responsible for all maintenance activities in the facility including three hot fill bottling/canning lines, blending operations, warehouse, plant utilities, and building maintenance. This position is also responsible for the Food Safety and Food Quality programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

Responsibilities include:
- Manage and improve a preventive maintenance program to improve equipment reliability, maximize wrench time, and increase operator engagement. This includes backlog management and planning periodic equipment overhauls.
- Manage the annual R&M budget for the facility. Identify opportunities to reduce cost and waste.
- Maintain and lead continuous improvement in regulatory programs including Arc Flash, LOTO, Confined Space, and Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Assist the Director of Engineering and plant leadership team in the development and execution of small capital projects.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives in water/energy conservation, solid waste reduction, and plant sustainability.
- Train new employees that are hired in the work area assigned
- Advanced knowledge of the field
- Lead by example and assist others who may need guidance
- Be accessible for employees to ask questions regarding areas of expertise
- Provide positive recognition to employees who exhibit good behavior in their work area
- Provide feedback to managers on individual and team performance
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (If applicable)
- Manage three employees and twenty indirect reports
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback, coaching, counseling, and disciplining; conduct training; implement enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; and reviewing professional publications.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
- Communicates job expectations; planning, monitoring, and assessing job results; coaching, and counseling employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Establishes strategic goals; identifies and evaluates trends; chooses a course of action; defines objectives; evaluates outcomes.
- Lead and support a food safety and food quality culture within the location
- Establish, document, and communicate to all relevant staff of food safety and quality objectives and performance measure
- Empower and encourage employees to act to resolve food safety and quality issues within their scope of work
- Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the food safety and quality culture within the location
- Effectively communicate all key performance indicators and objectives to employees
- Ensure staffing and adequate resources are maintained to meet objectives
- Educate all staff to understand the importance of food safety and food quality controls and deviation consequences.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Requires strong planning/administrative/supervisory skills
- Solid knowledge of electrical, industrial controls, mechanical, hydraulic, compressed air, boiler systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, waste treatment systems, and building maintenance in a hi speed CPG environment
- 7-9 years of management experience (2-3 years leading a maintenance department preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to produce results in reliability/OEE through administration of a preventive/predictive maintenance program- knowledge of continuous improvement techniques (5S, Lean, TPM, etc.) a plus
- Ability to analyze trends from an automated DT collection system
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and food processing equipment. Ideal candidate will have bottling and canning experience
- GFSI/SQF experience a plus
- Understand OSHA/FDA/USDA/EPA requirements in a manufacturing environment
- Experience utilizing a CMMS to request, plan, execute and analyze maintenance activities -LPC currently uses EMaint in the facility
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to ensure leadership presence across 3 shifts, including some weekend coverage.
- Typically covers every 4th weekend to oversee PM activities
- BS or equivalent experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.
OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
