POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Production Maintenance Manager and is based out of our  Hendersonville, NC location. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all building and IT activities to preserve the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-maintained. This individual will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)

  • Coordination of projects that the company IT team wants to commission (labeler, taggers, badge printers, Starlink) Anything with an ethernet connection 
  • Support equipment that communicates on the company network
  • Inventory computer equipment/supplies  
  • Security Technology management (Badge system, camera system) 
  • Ability to draft and print project-based plans (AutoCAD)

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and coordinate all installations (wastewater, boilers, air compressors, electricity, etc.) and refurbishments
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Inspect buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
  • Review utility consumption and strive to minimize costs
  • Supervise external contractors and manage up to four direct reports
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security, etc.
  • Allocate office space according to needs
  • Handle service contracts
  • Keep financial and non-financial records
  • Perform analysis and forecasting
  • Work closely with maintenance facilities supervisors 
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Support plant IT needs and communication through Corporate IT
  • Support plant network server and corporate backup server

Supervisory Responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years' experience as a facility supervisor or manager or relevant experience
  • 1-3 years' experience in a Manufacturing or production environment 
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • IT/Networking experience
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and finance principles
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detailed oriented and can multi-task
  • Must have excellent time management skills

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry 
  • Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

 

FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility.  Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

 

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.  Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

 

VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction.  Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.  Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
