POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the General Manager Sales, the VP, Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and leading the channel sales strategy for our private label business. This individual will develop a comprehensive sales plan that aligns with the company's overall strategic objectives, ensuring profitability and long-term growth success. The VP of Sales will have direct customer responsibilities and lead a high performing sales team, further strengthen relationships with key retail customers and identify new business opportunities. This role requires a proven leader with direct experience in private label consumer packaged goods, strong negotiation skills, and a data-driven analytical approach to sales strategy . The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, hands-on leader and results-driven sales professional.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive growth and achieve the budgeted financial metrics within the private label beverage category.
- Build and maintain relationships with major retailers, ensuring alignment with their private label strategies
- Lead, mentor and develop the channel sales team, setting clear goals and performance expectations
- Identify new business opportunities to grow share and profitability, including innovation, category management and portfolio management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure sales strategies align with company priorities and market trends.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insights and adjust strategy accordingly
- Implement and oversee sales forecasting, budgeting and reporting to manage performance and optimize sales effectiveness.
- Customer centric mindset, and align with company objectives for win-win partnership
- Participate in Company's continuous improvement initiatives
- Travel (domestic) as needed
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree Advanced business degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years sales leadership experience in Private Label CPG sales (beverage experience is a plus)
- Minimum 5 years leading a sales team
- Experience in private label sales ; and direct experience working with major retailers (Value/Grocery/Mass/Dollar)
- Successful sales & sales management experience including P&L responsibility, negotiating complex RFP's/bids, and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills.
- Able to travel
- Must have a valid driver's license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.
FREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.
OCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 20 – 35 lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.
VISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.
HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
