Job Summary

This role participates in testing of software design prior to presentation to users. Develops course content, training materials and instruction for end users to ensure effective orientation, education, and utilization of the software. Serves as liaison between the users and clinical/business application team.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of experience in a combination of patient financial services, IT, clinical, or related experience
Substitutable Education & Experience: 5 Years of Experience can be substituted for one of the following:
Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Management Science, Business Administration with 3 years of experience in patient financial services or related area;
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Science, Health Information Management, Business Administration, or related degree with 1 year of experience in patient financial services (such as revenue flow or patient access), or related area.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Must obtain certification in Health IT Workforce Training (HIT) program within 6 months of obtaining position;
Must obtain certification in EHR training specific to Lexington Medical Center.
Required Training: Demonstrated success in classroom instruction and presentations;
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite;
Experience in current healthcare technology specific to LMC business services: revenue cycle or patient access (Considered a Super User in area of expertise);
Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing electronic healthcare software in a medium to large organization.

Essential Functions
  • Participates in performance assessment and improvement initiatives of the informatics systems using best practices and in-depth knowledge of work processes, policies and procedures applicable to area of focus, identifying areas in need of improvement.
  • Participates in system design and workflow process flow through collaboration with end users and application teams.
  • Assists managers with modifying policies and procedures to correspond with changes in practice.
  • Participates in system testing and validation identifying problem areas and system or workflow process changes or modifications to meet the needs of the focus area.
  • Develops and maintains test scripts with technical team for utilization by advisory team.
  • Ability to translate complex cultural, operational, and technical terms into “common sense: concepts.
  • Communicates to multidisciplinary classes, responding in a creative and professional manner to ensure message delivery and respect client organizational culture and politics.
  • Develops curriculum and corresponding tools, resources, and training materials for end users to ensure effective orientation, education, and utilization of the software.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conducts training for specific area and assist other principle trainers to include:    
    • Classroom/CBT/At-the Elbow/ Train-the trainer.       
    • Scenario based.            
    • Competency testing approach.          
    • Modifying instruction style to meet the needs of adult learners.
  • Develops and monitors training schedules and provides information to key personnel about deadlines and employee participation.
  • Provides feedback on student learning needs and progress and uses aggregate data to adjust program content, instruction style, or materials.
  • Completes tasks within timeline and ensures deliverables for area of responsibility, escalating issues to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
  • Provides end user support; responds to software application problems; reviews issues logs to identify problem patterns and training needs.
  • Serves as project champion to promote the integration of technology into the business setting.
  • Continues to work closely with area of focus to identify on-going opportunities for improvement and enhance functionality.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
