Our school was founded in 1931 with a dual mission of training outstanding doctors who are committed to care for the underserved and providing excellent healthcare for the people of Louisiana. Our faculty, residents and students also work to advance medical science - whether making exciting discoveries in the laboratory, studying new treatments in our clinics, or understanding how our delivery system can improve health equity.
