Title and Summary

Director, Advanced Product Management Capability Development Overview
At Mastercard, Learning & Development (L&D) plays a critical role in building the capabilities that enable product excellence, innovation, and growth. From onboarding through advanced mastery and leadership development, we equip our people to perform in a rapidly evolving, technology-driven environment.
As Mastercard continues to scale its global Product organization, expectations for Product Managers are increasing—particularly in product strategy, discovery, delivery, data-informed decision-making, technical fluency, and emerging capabilities such as AI-enabled product development. This role exists to ensure Product Managers are not only enabled, but capable, with clear and consistent pathways to advanced mastery aligned to business outcomes.
The Director, Advanced Product Management Capability Development is accountable for shaping the global advanced capability strategy for Mastercard's Product Manager community. The role focuses on evolving how Product Managers build mastery over time, from strong foundations to advanced and emerging skills.
This role serves as a critical bridge between the Product Management community and enterprise learning priorities, translating strategy into relevant, scalable, and high-impact capability solutions through partnership with Product leaders, People & Capability (P&C), and delivery partners. Operating through influence and insight, the role requires strong judgment, credibility, and the ability to shape decisions at senior levels across Product, Technology, and P&C.

Brings hands-on understanding of modern product management practices, including strategy, discovery, delivery, experimentation, metrics, and technical collaboration in global, scaled environments.
Operates with an enterprise-first, consultative mindset focused on alignment, scale, and long-term impact rather than standalone programs.
Demonstrates strong judgment in prioritization, favoring reuse and enterprise value over bespoke solutions.
Builds credibility with senior Product, Technology, and P&C stakeholders and influences outcomes without direct authority.
Designs and delivers advanced learning interventions, independently or with internal SMEs and external partners.
Facilitates learning experiences with senior leaders.
