Title and Summary

Director of Technical Program Manager Overview:

The Mastercard Account Level Management (ALM) platform empowers real-time card level decisioning. As consumers progress along their life stages as card holders, with increasing disposable income and more refined preferences, ALM provides services to issuers so they can effectively offer more relevant benefits and rewards at each stage, to drive loyalty and spend. Mastercard is kicking off several enterprise efforts that are powered by the ALM platform and need a special leader to help drive these enterprise iniatives.

Are you interested in leading the effort to deliver a large-scale enterprise product that directly delivers against a critical business goal and spans essential parts of Mastercard?

We are looking for a unique leader who can drive the delivery of a key product that is crucial to the future of payments at Mastercard. This product's delivery will require coordination across many of Mastercard's core payment systems groups. In this role, you will collaborate with various large engineering teams across the enterprise to ensure the accuracy of solutions and alignment with the roadmap delivery. You will provide regular program updates to our executive stakeholders. To succeed in this position, you will need a strong technical background to lead discussions with these teams as well as with senior leadership.

In addition to overseeing the technical program delivery, you will have accountability for your own engineering leadership team, which will directly contribute to the product's success.

ALL ABOUT YOU
• Solid technical background, ideally with experience in building highly scalable platforms, products, or services, along with the capability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Extensive experience delivering technical programs so you know where to look to find all the potential landmines
• Maintain effective communication strategies to provide program updates, risks, and dependencies to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and delivering technical programs in agile delivery models (scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy on projects that have ambiguity
• Enjoys diving deep to understand of the platform's capabilities and underlying technologies and providing input and helping manage the engineering teams deliverables
• Experience with XP, TDD and BDD in the software development processes
• Huge plus if you have expertise in Payments industry
• Excellent problem-solving and influencing abilities.
• Strong focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results.
• Proven track record of data driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
• Can debate the delivery strategy with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers across multiple projects being ran concurrently
• BS in engineering, computer science or related discipline.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
