Title and Summary
Director, Social Impact, Latin America & the Caribbean OverviewThe Center for Inclusive Growth is the social impact hub at Mastercard. The organization seeks to ensure that the benefits of an expanding economy accrue to all segments of society. Through actionable research, impact data science, programmatic grants, stakeholder engagement and global partnerships, the Center advances equitable and sustainable economic growth and financial inclusion around the world. The Center's work is at the heart of Mastercard's objective to be a force for good in the world.
Based in North LAC, the Director, Social Impact, Latin America & the Caribbean, is responsible for the management of a portfolio of social impact programs and grants in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Director is an important member of the Center's Americas Team, and more broadly the Global Programs team.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Design & Partnerships
Lead and execute CFIG's social impact strategy across Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on micro, small, and medium enterprise growth, inclusive innovation and financial health
Ensure robust governance of existing programs (e.g., Mastercard Strive in Mexico and Colombia) and develop new initiatives
Collaborate with partners to execute global and pan-region programs in Latin America and the Caribbean
Direct program design, implementation and impact reporting adhering to Mastercard Impact Fund guidelines, driving scale and replication
Identify, forge and manage regional partnerships with governments, multilateral banks, NGOs, corporate philanthropies and other key stakeholders to accelerate the CFIG Latin America and the Caribbean strategy
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Align efforts with senior leadership and cross-functional teams in Latin America and the Caribbean (e.g., Global Affairs, Market Development, Public Sector, Marketing and Communications)
Advise Mastercard business units on collaboration opportunities to integrate commercial and philanthropic efforts
Facilitate workshops, convenings and volunteer engagement with key grantees and local teams
Build relationships with customers and stakeholders, identifying opportunities for new social impact partnerships
Engage policymakers and unlock partnerships and resources to scale the impact of the Latin American and Caribbean social impact portfolio
Thought Leadership & Communication
Position Mastercard as a leader in social impact, leveraging regional insights and partnerships
Develop and execute communication strategies to promote inclusive growth and catalyze action across the region
Represent CFIG at events and contribute to the development of original research and insights
Qualifications:
Extensive external network in Latin America and the Caribbean including thought leaders, policymakers, multilaterals, bilateral donor agencies and corporate philanthropies
Strong background in partnership development including resource mobilization from Latin American institutions, multilaterals, and other corporate philanthropies
Robust experience in program development, corporate philanthropy and grantmaking in the Latin America and the Caribbean context
Proven track record in managing diverse portfolio and multiple projects simultaneously
Expertise in the intersection of business and inclusive growth
Advanced degree in business, policy, international development or related fields
Experience working in the public and social sectors preferred
Fluency in Spanish and English
