Title and Summary

Director, Total Rewards, LAC Benefits As the Director of Benefits Design for the Latin America region, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our employee benefits programs across a diverse and dynamic region. You will work with a talented, global HR team and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our employees' overall well-being. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive benefits packages that align with the Mastercard's global strategy while addressing the unique needs and regulations of each country in the Latin American region. This is a high-impact role, requiring strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and expertise in regional benefits trends and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Benefits Design & Strategy:
o Lead the design and development of benefits programs (healthcare, wellbeing, retirement, life insurance, etc.) for Latin America, ensuring they align with corporate goals and regional priorities.
o Collaborate with benefits design team to ensure program policies and design are operationally effective and support a positive employee experience.
o Collaborate across P&C with PBPs, TRPs, and other stakeholders such as finance and legal as needed to ensure that benefits packages are competitive, compliant with local laws, and culturally relevant.
o Continuously evaluate the benefits landscape across Latin America to ensure that programs are modern, cost-effective, and meet the needs of employees at all levels.
• Regional Compliance & Regulatory Management:
o Stay current on benefits-related regulations, labor laws, and policies in Latin American countries to ensure all offerings are compliant.
o Work closely with legal, finance, and P&C teams to address any compliance-related issues or changes in regulations that may impact benefits programs.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
o In partnership with benefits delivery team manage relationships with external benefits providers, brokers, and consultants to ensure high-quality service delivery and effective cost management.
o Determine strategies for new vendors as needed.
• Employee Communication & Engagement:
o Develop and implement communication strategies to educate employees on their benefits options, usage, and value.
o Partner with benefits delivery team, PBPs and TRPs to ensure benefits offerings are well-understood and embraced by employees, fostering engagement and satisfaction.
• Data Analytics & Reporting:
o Work across P&C (POI, benefits delivery, etc.) to leverage data to assess the effectiveness of benefits programs, identifying areas for improvement or optimization in program design and policy.
o Provide regular reports and analysis to senior leadership regarding the impact and cost of benefits programs, including trends, utilization, and ROI.
• Budget Management:
o Oversee the benefits budget for the Latin America region, ensuring that the program is both cost-effective and delivers maximum value to employees.
o Develop cost projections and manage benefit spend in line with company financial goals.
Qualifications:
• Education & Experience:
o Strong experience in benefits design and management
o Strong experience working in the Latin American market, with in-depth knowledge of local benefits laws, regulations, and cultural nuances.
• Skills & Competencies:
o Expertise in benefits design, plan administration, and vendor management.
o Strong understanding of local and regional healthcare, retirement, wellbeing, and other benefits trends in Latin America.
o Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
o Ability to think strategically while executing tactically across multiple countries with diverse employee populations.
o Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and program improvements.
o Fluent in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a plus).

Salary range:

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
