We are seeking a Lead AI Visual Interface Engineer to join our AI Center of Excellence (AI COE). In this role, you will drive the design and development of intuitive, user-centered visual interfaces that make advanced AI capabilities accessible and engaging. You will lead efforts to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling visual experiences across diverse platforms and formats.

As a key member of a cross-functional team, you will collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and UX researchers to understand system capabilities, constraints, and user needs. Your work will shape how users interact with AI-driven solutions, ensuring clarity, usability, and aesthetic excellence. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and leadership skills to set design standards, mentor team members, and deliver high-impact visual solutions.

The Role:
• Design intuitive, AI‑native interfaces. Lead the end‑to‑end design and implementation of user‑centered visual interfaces for AI experiences (chat/agents, data‑rich views, multimodal).
• Deep collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Partner with AI Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Researchers to translate model capabilities/constraints into interface decisions; co‑define requirements, acceptance criteria, and release scope.
• Prototyping & user testing. Rapidly prototype (Figma/React/Storybook) and run iterative usability tests to validate assumptions; incorporate human‑centered design methods to converge on the most effective patterns.
• Visual interface delivery readiness. Support the transition from visual design to delivery, ensuring clear communications, usability, accessibility, and feedback loops for visual design launches
• Data visualization & explainability. Define and implement accessible, brand‑aligned visualization patterns; communicate model behavior, confidence, and data lineage clearly to diverse audiences using approved dashboard and design‑center guidelines.
• Engineering integration for AI UX. Work with backend/ML teams to integrate model and retrieval APIs
• Standards, governance, and documentation. Create and maintain pattern libraries, usage guidance, and decision records; align to internal brand and technical guidelines
• Mentorship & leadership. Set the quality bar for interface engineering; mentor designers/engineers, run design reviews, and promote best practices across guilds/SIGs and partner teams.

All About You:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interface, Design, Psychology, Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Profound experience in broad visual interface design, engagement, communications and delivery skills across diverse industries, geographies, and capabilities
• General experience with Popular Gen AI tools for integration with graphic design and interfaces.
• Proficiency in visual design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Visual design content management
• Strong understanding of human-centered design principles and methodologies
• Familiarity with multi modal AI applications leveraging text, voice, visual and video
