Title and Summary
Lead, Network Architect OverviewPurpose of the Team:
The Network Architecture team responsibilities include:
• Global network design and network/component standards, network roadmaps, audit compliance; investigation, testing, and deployment of new technologies to fit business needs.
• Perform a network expert consultative role to both internal and external customers at the “C suite” levels of the organizations.
Purpose of the position includes:
• Network design (high level and low level), architecture, and implementation oversight including associated documentation.
• Network design of Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) using the latest technologies.
• Network design for On-Prem and Off-Prem cloud products and partners. This must include extensive experience with environments in either AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Global deployment of network security infrastructure solutions including firewalls/IDS/IPS both physical appliances and VNF's.
Best Fit for the role:
• Candidates should have a minimum of 10+ years industry experience in network design.
• You have created business justification cases including financials, analyzed, tested, authored high level/low level designs and brought new technology solutions to implementation.
• You have performed detailed problem analysis and troubleshooting. Lead efforts to solve the problem collaboratively.
• Deployed production ready applications or virtual infrastructure in the cloud.
• Designed and worked with a cross-functional teams to deploy solutions on a global scale.
• You have created or provided input to governances, process and procedure relating to network infrastructure.
Role
• Design solutions for merged or acquired companies to work with the Mastercard network.
• Design, engineering, and implementation of complex network solutions in a variety of disciplines, emphasis on edge security postures, access control and automation.
• Provide strategic technical direction on highly complex network projects or activities involving the selection and recommendation of design approach and systems technology.
• Research and develop innovative solutions. Support vendor management including evaluation and selection of new products.
• Research and develop automation tools to support the Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) movement.
• Provide fourth level support to the Operations Command Center; owning, investigation, troubleshooting and resolving network communications and operations problems impacting customer, backbone access, or performance on a global basis.
All About You
Network engineering, design, and architecture expertise in the following areas:
• Software Defined WAN, Security, QoS, Encryption technologies their design methodologies and implementation best practices.
• Mastery of TCP/IP protocol communications, addressing & subnetting for IPv6 addressing.
• Firewall experience: Checkpoint as well as Palo Alto.
• SD-WAN deployment experience with Fortinet.
• Extensive knowledge of Cisco's product portfolio; routers, switches, wireless, ACS and ISE
• Extensive knowledge of Network diagnostics, protocols, and disciplines, OMP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, SNMP MIBs/OID's, VPN, MPLS, Cellular technologies.
• Knowledge of security and encryption technologies including; IPSEC & GRE tunnels on routers and firewalls, PKI Certificates, and SSL/MSSL.
Desirable or additional capabilities:
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, and excellent customer support capabilities
• Strong vendor management experience
• Self-motivated demonstrating strong organizational and listening skills; and very detail oriented with the ability to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to consistently act in a professional manner and communicate with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
• Methodical problem resolving skills and mastery of developing high level and detailed network designs; solid web applications and technologies a plus; Cisco certifications such as CCIE, CCNP or CCDP a plus. Security certifications such SSCP or CISSP a plus.
• Design, engineer and implementation of Software Defined Networking with service chaining.
• Solid experience implementing Software Defined WAN using MPLS, Internet, Cellular and Satellite.
• Research and develop innovative solutions that support cloud connect strategies.
• Unix skills and the ability to script in Python a plus.
• Experience with API tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering.
