Title and Summary
Lead Software Engineer OverviewMastercard Payment Gateway Service (MPGS) is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced and dynamic Lead Full Stack Software Engineer (Front-End Heavy) to lead the development of user-centric, performant, and scalable applications. The role emphasizes expertise in modern frontend technologies such as Angular and React while maintaining strong backend proficiency with Java/J2EE and Spring.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Front-End Development
•Lead the development of dynamic, responsive, and intuitive user interfaces using Angular and React.
•Ensure front-end applications are optimized for performance, accessibility, and scalability.
•Implement reusable components, state management solutions, and design system integrations.
2. Back-End Development
•Design and develop backend services using Java/J2EE, Spring, and JPA.
•Integrate front-end applications with backend APIs and services.
•Manage and optimize interactions with RDBMS.
3. Cloud and Infrastructure
•Design and deploy applications on cloud platforms.
•Leverage cloud-native tools to enhance system scalability, reliability, and security.
4. Agile Practices
•Actively participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups) to ensure timely delivery of features.
•Adapt and contribute to iterative delivery cycles to ensure rapid and quality-focused releases.
5. CI/CD and DevOps:
•Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
•Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices to improve development efficiency.
5. Team Leadership and Mentorship
•Lead and mentor a team of engineers, guiding them in best practices, architectural decisions, and efficient coding techniques.
•Collaborate with stakeholders, including Product, UX, and QA teams, to align technical execution with business goals.
6. UI Performance Optimization (Good to Have)
•Conduct performance tuning and UI optimizations to deliver fast-loading and responsive web applications.
•Use tools like Lighthouse, or Chrome DevTools to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Must-Have Skills:
•Frontend Expertise: Proficiency in Angular and React, with a strong focus on modern front-end best practices.
•Backend Technologies: Solid experience with Java/J2EE, Spring and JPA.
•Database Management: Strong knowledge of RDBMS.
•Cloud: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms.
•CI/CD: Expertise in tools like Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery.
•Agile Practices: Deep understanding of agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Good-to-Have Skills:
•UI Performance Engineering: Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools like Lighthouse or Chrome DevTools.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
•Minimum of 8+ years of experience in full-stack development with a focus on front-end-heavy applications.
•Proven experience in leading teams and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
•Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
